Sanderson Funeral Homes, Inc. was started in 1904 by Mr. T.D. "Tommy" Sanderson in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee as part of the Sanderson General Merchandise Store. That store not only sold caskets, but was also the community post office, a Chevrolet dealership, and the local pharmacy.

Many things have changed over the last 100+ years. But one thing that has not changed is our continuing commitment of service to the families in our area. Now, a century later, we are one of the oldest businesses in Smith County which includes two modern facilities and three cemeteries, allowing us to continue our tradition of service to this community.

                                        

In addition to our funeral and memorial services we also provide cremation, aftercare, and pre-need services.
Our licensed funeral directors can assist you in planning and carrying out a tribute as unique and individual as the ones you love. We have pre-arrangement counselors to help you to pre-plan in order to lift part of the financial and emotional burden off of family members and loved ones.
